NGC 3293 an open cluster in the constellation Carina, embedded in a colorful nebula region. At a distance of 8000 light-years, it consists of more than 50 stars in a 10 arc minutes field and is one of the brightest open cluster in the southern sky (the brightest star is a red giant of mag 6.5).
