NGC 300 is located in the inconspicuous constellation Sculptor and a prominent member of the "Sculptor group of galaxies". Its diameter is 94,000 light-years, which is slightly smaller than our Milky Way. With a distance of 6 Mly, it is one of the closest galaxies to us in the southern sky and already easy to spot with binoculars. |
